Hey There!

In this journey of life, there are moments when we feel lost or in need of a sense of direction to get us back on track or a map to help us explore deeper breaths; whatever your story, I am here to embrace you as a special individual, valuing your unique path and guide you to find your meaning.

My Journey

I hail from the paradise island of Mauritius where I completed high school from The University of Cambridge, UK - International Examinations. While growing up, I always knew that I had to be in the helping profession and I was fascinated with psychology. I was curious and would undertake countless psychological tests and would research and read about psychotherapy. My keen interest was evident and my peers would even joke about things and wittily ask: "Et qu'est qui ce passe dans ce cas la?" which translates to: "and what happens in this case?" Yes, I am a polyglot and fluent in my mother tongue which is Creole (Kreol), obviously English and French as well as spoken Hindi, Urdu and have some functional understanding of Bhojpuri which is a local dialect in India.

My thirst for psychology landed me with a Bachelor of Science degree with Psychology  from the Upper Iowa University, USA and culminated with a Masters in Counselling from HELP University, Malaysia {the said program is accredited by the Malaysian regulatory body: LEMBAGA KAUNSELOR (1998)}. During my undergraduate studies I was a psychology tutor for various semesters and did my internships at a residential center and a day care center for autistic children. During my one year internship at graduate level, I not only sharpened my Psychotherapeutic and Counselling skills as a School Counsellor at the Global Indian International School in Malaysia but I have also briefly taught life skills and French classes. Simultaneously, I was working at the Centre for Psychological and Counselling Services and at CareerSense in Malaysia. These opportunities have enabled me to deal with a variety of issues and also chiseled my career guidance, testing and assessment skills.

After graduating with fruitful dividends, I opened in my private practice as a psychotherapist in Mauritius whereby I provided psychotherapeutic services to an array of clientele ranging from individuals, children and families. Moreover, I have lectured Counselling Therapies and Stress Management at the University of Technology Mauritius. Thereon, I took up employment with the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare where I worked extensively with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence as well as with children having behavioural issues. Subsequently, I worked at the National Empowerment Foundation, an organization under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Integration which caters for beneficiaries of social aid. Thereat, I served vulnerable individuals and families (including children) and trained staff dealing with the former. I decided to open up my wings and flew to Canada where I am currently employed at a Sexual Assault Centre serving women who have experienced intimate partner violence.

I enjoy spending my free time with my family and friends, exploring new places and soothing my endless quench for astrology. I also practice yoga and ardently learn on YouTube.

This is what brings me here to be at your service with all my knowledge and skills acquired during my journey. I hope to enlighten your path and be your guide as you meaningfully carve out yours.
